Dipl. Ing. Norbert Jansen, Borealis Polymere GmbH

Norbert Jansen, born in 1962 in Germany, finished his degree as mechanical engineer (Dipl.Ing.) at the Fachhochschule Niederrhein Krefeld, Germany in 1987.

In 1988 he started his career at Neste Chemicals in Germany were he worked as a Sales Manager in the Business Unit for Blow- and Injection Moulding of Polyolefines and joined the Business Unit Pipe in 1991. 

Besides the Sales responsibility in Germany and neighbor countries, he is since then in touch to the pipeline industry. In addition to technical sales to customers, he has been an active member of the Pipe associations in Germany and national and international standardization committees in DIN, EN and ISO.

In 1994, Neste Chemicals and the petrochemical activities of Statoil were combined in a new joint venture under the name BOREALIS, today owned by IPIC Abu Dhabi Investment Company and Austrian OMV(64%/36%). 

In September 2004 he became Application Marketing Manager for Hot & Cold water plastic pipe systems with worldwide responsibility for the PE-X and PP-R in-house piping materials. 

In 2008 Norbert moved into the position of Application Marketing Manager Oil and Gas with global product and technical marketing responsibility for the steel pipe coating product range and other O&G solutions of Borealis AG.

Since July 2015 Norbert is now Application Marketing Manager PE Pipe, active as well in TEPPFA, PE100+Association and in DIN, CEN and ISO Standardization.
